Who are your Trainers?

Sandra Janoff, PhD
Sandra co-developed the principle-based methodology called Future Search, a process used world-wide to get the “whole system” focusing on the future and creating values-based action strategies. Sandra’s work has had global, national, regional and local influence on an array of complex social and economic issues, such as: Creating a future for children living in the midst of war in Sudan; Creating a more welcoming Europe for people on the move; Enabling equitable maternal care across the United States; Redesigning global process in corporations such as IKEA and Haworth for environmental and economic sustainability; Addressing disaster risk reduction in the southern hemisphere with UNDP; and building communities in many parts of the world that were previously torn apart by racism, sectarianism, economic blight, loss of traditional values and severe health and well-being inequities.

Sandra is Director of Future Search Network, a worldwide network of practitioners dedicated to work with communities anywhere in the world for whatever people can afford. She is co-author of Future Search, Don’t Just Do Something, Stand There! and Lead More, Control Less. She was honored with the 2016 Organization Development Network’s Lifetime Achievement Award. At home, she cuddles with the cutest (covid) puppies ever. Marv Weisbord is Director Emeritus of Future Search Network. Marv’s new, fabulous career is making music – playing piano with his jazz group, writing songs and producing live performances in his residential community.

Michael Donnelly
Michael is Co-Director of the Future Search Network. He lives in Northern Ireland and has worked across boundaries with Future Search for over 20 years, bringing different levels of the system into dialogue and coherence. He has facilitated whole system processes with non-profits, local government, central government, and international organizations on issues of social change like suicide prevention, Mental Health and Peace Building. He has worked on legacy of violence dialogues with victims and survivor groups. He co-designed Future Search in Virtual Space with Sandra Janoff. FSVS is the process that brings the entire Future Search process online. At home he is a keen grower, bee-keeper, cyclist, and community activist on climate action.
